Paula Crevoshay The Metalmark Butterfly
# PLSK14 Ready to Ship
The METALMARK BUTTERFLY, so named because of metallic markings on their wings, encompasses over 1500 species, of which many are endangered and some of which have been lost. This Crevoshay butterfly, a portrait of Riodinidae Calephelis Mutica, is part of Paula's Heritage series of American flora and fauna, often endangered and sometimes incorporating American gemstones. Paula feels that it is important to record the natural beauty that we have inherited as a gift to posterity who will live in a somewhat different world, perhaps without all ot the wonders we enjoy.
This pin is set with 52 black diamonds with a total weight of 1.62 carats and one sapphire weighing 0.24 carat and two Kenyan Tsavorites weighing 0.64 carats.
