Here’s how it works:

The initial appointment is complimentary. This is where any gems you want to use are evaluated, ideas are sketched and a preliminary estimate is given. If you are comfortable with the design and preliminary estimate, we then ask for a $500 deposit, to cover the time required to develop a computer aided design (CAD) rendering in three dimensions. Please see above for examples.

We meet again in a week or two to review the finished CAD rendering and design proposal with a firm price quote. We ask the client to sign off on the proposal and provide additional funds to bring the deposit up to half of the proposed price.

Completion can vary from 3 to 6 weeks, depending on complexity and our shop workload. Each custom design is signed and comes with a state-of-the-art appraisal document for the purpose of securing insurance coverage.

I hope this answers your questions, if not, please reply below, or call 1-866-245-5700.

Scenes from our workshop

1 Cut Bar of Plat

These images show just a few of the steps required to make a handmade platinum ring.  This ring is made from a solid bar of platinum and is worked down with a rolling mill to reduce the thickness of the square wire. A  drawplate is then used to convert thin square wire into round wire for the ring’s prongs.

As you can see in the images, the platinum gets so hot, you cannot look at it or it can burn your eyes! Our jewelers must protect their eyes and use a special material to shield themselves from the intense brightness of the metal.2 Weld ring

Once the ring is fabricated, then it is set with the precious stones and polished in many steps to bring out the beauty of the platinum.  It is a lot of work to create this beautiful ring; and it is very strong and will last for generations.5 Cut seat for prongs
